The thing about organising a wedding is that it consumes your life (and your bank balance) for months and yet you know it will be over in what will feel like seconds. People say it's the best day of your life. I can't quite believe that, especially as I've been to the Eurovision Song Contest.
I suppose it's because you have all the people you are closest to under one (barn) roof, (missing J-Le, Peta, Elsie & ChrisP for total completeness) and they all say nice things about you, and you get to marry your bestest friend in the whole world and eat, drink & dance (3 things I've spent my whole life practising) as much as your outfit allows.
To be honest though, I'm not really looking forward to having everyone ooh and aahh and take loads of photos of me (reportage style- another thing about weddings, you learn a whole new vocabulary). I don't really fancy being the centre of attention. Although the big ivory dress that screams BRIDE would seem to belie this feeling.
Should be a good fun party though. When the chief registrar at King's Lynn heard I was having a bridesman, (Dazza) & live jazz band for walking down the (barn) aisle she said she wanted to come to the wedding too 'coz it sounded like fun.
Just waiting for the nerves to kick in and the weight to fall off. As apparently it does with all brides.
Admittedly, this may be more brides in their 20's.
