In fairness, the past couple of years, I've been one of the only people I know in real life (internet friends don't count) who become this obsessed- and it's all thanks to the Internet, so no reason why I can't get involved this year either.
It does seem a bit pants this year though. A lot of mediocre ballads from some usual crowd-pleasing Eurocountries. (Ukraine, Sweden, Azerbaijan, I'm talking to you). And a lot of chicks singing these ballads. (to quote my brother).
But a couple are standing out a bit. Not sure if this is for better or worse:
Spain- is this guy Irish? Love the hair. And with all these crap ballads this one may stand out and make this the anos para Espana
Greece- love a bit of a bop. And I like the intermittent mobile phone sound. Some audiences have no respect. Opa...
Portugal- although, I suspect this is the UK's entry from last year just sung in Portuguese...
and what the hell is Germany up to?? Will this be a grower? Pity about her strange accent. or is this deliberate?? Does it really matter- it's Germany=Bottom 3 no matter what they do.
Stay tuned. I know I will.
