On our birthdays each of us gets a DAY OF FUN.
For K's birthday a couple of weeks ago we went to the TATE modern and had no luck getting on to the Unilever Carsten Holler Exhibition (aka giant slides).
So, we decided to go one of our favourite gastro pubs (The Anchor and Hope) for lunch instead. They don't take bookings so it's a perfect thing to do when you have a few hours to spare! Except now they do take bookings...on a Sunday...and they were booked out.
So, we walked into Soho and tried a restaurant we've been trying to go to for ages. Yautcha and at last had some success! Dim sum and then some.
Finally we went to the movies. So it ended up being a fun day after all. Part of the problem with living in London is there is so much to do but fortune does not favour the impulsive... You have to plan these things!!
So, for my day of fun I have a tight schedule planned:
Brunch: 12.00
Movies: 2.55 (Probably the Illusionist- not much else fits into the plan timewise)
Drinks: after (this part of the day is actually a bit unplanned, I like to live on the edge)
Dinner: 6.00
Comedy show: 7.45 (Ed Byrne)

Can't wait!
