So many things to think about when planning a wedding. I had no idea. Well, ofcourse I did have some idea but it's fast becoming a reality.
I've mostly realised what a crap friend I've been in the past to other friends who've gotten married- e.g. Loads of people have given us lovely engagement cards. I'm pretty certain I've never given one to any of my engaged friends...I never even thought of it. How amiss of me.
Venues- what a nightmare. We can't really pick the date until we can confirm we can get married somewhere. Looks like it might be Aug 2nd 2008...venue pending.
Dresses- how on earth can one justify spending £1000+ on a dress you only wear once. Although, admittedly my mum's wedding dress & her bridesmaids' dresses got plenty of use when Denise & I used to play dress-ups in the attic. (How very Virginia Andrews). But it seems that as soon as you make a dress in WHITE it becomes ultra expensive.
Having the people you want at your wedding vs having the people you have to invite. Very thin ice to be skating on.
A nice update though- I've asked Denise & Darren to be my bridesmaid & bridesman and they've both agreed.
So the real question is-where to have the hen's night. I'm thinkin Dublin. which reminds me of a terrible joke- why is Ireland so big, because it keeps on Dublin & Dublin. (Doesn't work on so many levels but still makes me smile).
Which reminds me to keep everything in perspective with this wedding lark and make sure it's (almost) always as fun as that joke.
