Winning ways with potatoes

We went up to Norwich, Norfolk this weekend to meet with some potential caterers for The Wedding & we were most impressed with their work. Thank goodness, because we hadn't really got anyone else lined up & time is running out (in wedding world speak). But this husband & wife team seem really great-an enthusiastic ex-butcher, with plenty of experience, a passion for locally sourced produce & for making everything, from scratch, on the premises, on the day.

We got to taste some of their salads (as Kieran says, these are often a good test). I was amazed by their range of potato salads. (And coming from Ireland potatoes are important). Plus they've worked in Sussex Barn before & highly rate the industrial kitchens & staff there. So all, in all, it looks good.

The real hit though were their profiteroles & a divine chocolate torte- both of which could also double as the 'Wedding Cake'. And they had nice ideas about how to decorate both.

Just have to decide what we want now. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Wow, I thought they were cream-filled and chocolate-covered spuds in the pic...until I read to the bottom of your post.

Now that would be a winner in my book!
