Getting in the festive spirit

Today I had one of those lovely lessons with my Year 7s (11 year olds).

We printed our Powerpoint presentations (6 slides to a page). Then we learned how to email work as attachments to your teacher.

Finally, in preparation for animating 'Twas the night before Christmas' in Moviemaker, I decided I'd read them the poem. Well my goodness. I'm not sure many of them have heard it all the way through before but they were loving it. Some had there heads on the desk, some were fervently highlighting key words- and none of them talked the whole way through. It just goes to show, we all love being read to.

Anyways, after the reading we had a jolly old time going on to Google and searching for images related to the poem (ignoring completely copyright laws & dodgy images of naughty Santas).

Then the bell went and we all left feeling festive and with them all saying 'we love ICT' 'this was the best lesson ever' and other complimentary comments.

I tell you, if the Ofsted inspectors had been in the room it would have been a bloody outstanding lesson. Ahh bless 'em.

And so tomorrow we'll be making movies. I might bring in my Christmas tunes CD
