50 things NOT to miss about London

* being so far from my family
* free papers littered everywhere
* feeling guilty about the number of homeless on the street
* cramped, hot tube journeys
* working in a challenging school
* sitting outside pubs with smokers in winter
* not being able to afford your own place
* living underground like the Wombles of Wimbledon (common are we)
* not being able to get tickets to shows, comedy, concerts etc because they've all sold out
* the nightmare of getting parcels delivered to your home and having to track them down and pick them up yourself if you happened not to be home when they were delivered (which is always)
* not having a car
* going shopping for groceries and ending up with more than you can carry & then struggling on the walk home
* never being able to buy any special offers, bulk buy, large size or BOGOFFS because you can't physically carry them home
* not having any family around you to help with things like weddings & movings
* tabloid newspapers and rubbish TV
* the Bloody Archers on Radio 4
* long, long, cold, dark winters when there are days you never see the light
* bad and inconsiderate service in shops or restaurants
* nobody knowing each other on your street
* listening to your neighbours in the flat above you stomping around all the time
* no front garden
* not being able to have a jumble sale to get rid of your clutter
* everywhere always seeming to be under construction
* not recognising the names of schools or towns or counties that people went to, lived in etc.
* people being very wary of you if you chat to them on the street
