What a busy week it's been-
Monday- renamed our pub quiz team name to Kirin Ichi Ban (double entendre there; translates as Kieran is number one and ofcourse the infamous Japanese beer) and went on to win for the second week in a row. Alas, did not win the money Jackpot this week either, but won another round of drinks for the team.
Tuesday- breather & chance to catch up with Big Brother Season 8, apparently the worst season ever and the only season I've actually ever watched...
Wednesday- yoga with yoga spice
Thursday- yoga with fave teacher Jude at school
Friday - hit the Wireless O2 Festival in Hyde Park and what a fantastic night that was. Beautiful weather, great vibe, and really great music. My faves were Kelis, Gotan Project and the incredible headliner, Faithless. Plenty of 'hands in the air, like you just don't care' action from myself and Kieran.
And woke up the next day with a stiff neck- we just can't rave like we used to. Although, to be fair, it's not all the fault of old age...I do remember waking up on occasion in my late teens with a similar neck ache after moshing to No More Chilli Jam and bands of that ilk at the "Shack."
Saturday-Joined Paul & Andrew on board the HMS Golden Star for Andrew's 40th birthday themed "White". I supposed it looks quite cool to be dressed in white when you are as tanned & toned as they are after their week in Stiges...however I suspected Kieran and I were not pulling off the look quite so successfully when a bus load of drunken stag-doers passed us by on the street yelling "bowling this way, bowling this way!!" Hmmph, cheek.
Sunday-and so brings us to today. We've spent hours online searching for that perfect Ryokan (Japanese style B&B) in Kyoto and have actually booked one. Tonight we are planning to hit the special members only open evening at the Tate Modern, where Kieran and I will endeavour to fit in with the sophisticats there...
Never a dull moment.
