Counting down the days now. This time next week we'll be in Kyoto, Japan. It is finally seeming real after so many months of planning!Really looking foward to;
- Catching up with friends & family all across the world; Joe in Japan, the Dunnes & everyone in Melb, Tom in NZ, Jase in Thailand
- Hitting the Docklands Fri 3rd & Big party Dunne's style Sat 4th
- Eating Japanese food & speaking Japanese again after soooo long
- Getting a bit of a summer (maybe not in Oz & NZ) and escaping the dodgy UK weather (yep, it's raining again, and not men either)
- Showing off Melbourne to Kieran and vice versa :)
We have 2 major events to look foward to befrore we leave...
- 'School's-out-for-Summer-We-gotta-get-out-of-this-place-We-don't-need-no-education' break up party after the students leave this Friday. This year we will be abandoning the traditional boat along the Thames and heading for a garden, Bonnington Gardens (I will be putting the statue of Mary in the garden & praying for good weather the night before). I am compiling a music set list as I type. One teacher has requested 'Get up, stand up' by Bob Marley. It will make a change to 'Get out, stay out' the usual anthem for teachers at our school...
- Kieran's cousin's 'wedding' well, evening party on Saturday night. I have a new Ted Baker dress bought like a true cheapskate in the Summer Sales and we'll be drinking & dancing the night away.
Now, if only we can get through these last couple of classes (and Year 10 parent/teacher interviews tomorrow night)
