Sushi & singing

Well, we had a great time in Nihon- a big thank you to everyone in Yura who made it particularly memorable be it through nabe or yakiniku parties or Karaoke (or letting us stay at his flat, Joe Dan).

We managed to cram so much in that it's all a bit of a colourful blur... and now that we're in Australia the extreme humid heat of Japan is fast becoming a distant memory in the cold Melbourne Winter.

Today Kieran did what I'd say very few visitors to Melbourne do...he went and studied in the State library! Well, they do have an original copy of Tony Wheeler's first Lonely planet (1973)!!

Tomorrow we are off to one of my favourite places- Daylesford and hopefullly Soverign Hill too :)
Apologies for the long time no blog but I've had the following problems:
1. In Kyoto the keyboard switched to Japanese characters mid blog entry (hence strangely shortened last entry)
2. Joe's keyboard has trouble with 'n's and m's and b's and v's. This is not due to Japanese script but the Japanese beer that he splilt on the keyboard
3. I've become addicted to facebook... anyone for Scrabble??! Say no more
