It's official. We're going on Strike on Thursday. The teacher's Union (aptly called the NUT) has called for it in response to the recent pay rises for teachers being well below the rate of inflation.
Suddenly words like picket line & scab have entered my vocabulary & I'm getting threatening-sounding letters & emails from the head saying I'm in breach of my contract.
The irony is I'll probably spend my day on Thursday marking student's coursework & then still lose a day's pay. Ah well, it's the principle of the thing, not the principal that's the thing.
