We are back on board with the idea of the romantic route home. Despite being thwarted with the Newcastle-Bergen (norway) ferry no longer running we may still be able to avoid flying to Oslo.
It looks like the Hurtigruten ferry cruise up the coast of Norway doesn't leave until the 8th Sept so that gives us a week to get there. Certainly going overland all the way has become an option again. I've done a bit of research and now our dream travel plan is:
London-Brussels-Cologne-Copenhagen-Gotheburg (Sweden)- Oslo- Bergen (where the Hurtigruten ferry leaves from)by train all the way.
