It was my last day with the kids on Friday. And it was all a bit mad. Last day of the year before the summer holidays is always a bit crazy but this was particularly surreal.
I think it was the fact that we knew that I was leaving and the ICT room was getting dismantled (thus giving us a licence to trash it) and all of us high on last day of school (with the leaving party's sweet popcorn, maltesers & lemonade combo) together with the boys on the google videos playing Michael Jackson videos on the Interactive Whiteboard & all of us trying to learn the moves to the Thriller video around the class set of computers that sent us over the edge. And not to mention trying to walk them down in one piece to St Margarets at Westminster Abbey without any of us getting run over by or damaging tourists and one of the Muslim boys standing up in the church shouting out "we love you Ms D" when the head announced I was leaving. Sheer chaos!
I will miss those crazy Year 8 boys!!
