Well well Wellington

We are now in wonderful windy Wellington with Tom (Kieran's brother) and I must say it's very nice weather considering that it's Winter! All sun and blue skies and fluffy white clouds and beautiful mountains. And loads of people out jogging- including Kieran. No small feat as it's quite hilly here! I'm sure Wellington must be one of the world's most livable cities. People are so friendly, food is great, it's beautiful & clean, it's easy to get around. Nothing seems to be a problem.

The Te Papa (Our Place) national museum was fascinating today. I loved the section which showcased the hows & whys people emigrated to NZ. Having left Ireland for Australia with my family aged 15 I could really relate to some of the stories. I could read people's emigrating stories all day. It reminded me a little bit of the Immigration museum in Melbourne, which I highly recommend too!

We've hired a car and plan to do a bit of exploring, can't quite remember the name of the place- somewhere north of here. I leave these decisions to the boys!! (Just as I hope to leave the driving to the boys too hahaha, don't tell them).I think the plan is that Tom & Kieran snowboard/ski while I indulge in some pampering or perhaps just reading. I'll need to R & R after Melbourne & before hitting Thailand with the boys from school.
