Well, we made it. We somehow managed (with almost no training) to make it around the 5km course in 37 mins 40 secs!! This may not seem especially quick to professional runners but we were delighted.Renu and I crossed the finish line together and I really think now that running with someone else is the way forward- we spent the first 2km gossipping and hardly even noticed (well, slight exaggeration). After that we laughed at others, tried and get in "next year's brochure" shots, hi-fived young men nearby (Renu, not me Kieran), tried to beat the celebrity running with her pram & baby and generally kept each other going. Also, it's great to have someone to drink well deserved beers and eat pizza, garlic bread & cheesecake with afterwards.
We are so excited we are contemplating running every second weekend together!! How long this excitement lasts is another issue.

Well done! I think the last time I ran anywhere (apart from for a bus or after a small child) was in highschool. So I think what you've achieved is brilliant!
