Lovely Lovely Days Off
Just had a lovely, lovely May Bank Holiday.
A nice mixture of
* hanging out with friends & dancing the night away at the Griffin's first Friday of the month's 80's night. Awesome DJ. I'm not convinced she looked old enough to have experienced the 80s in all its splendour first time round, but made no difference, she kept the hits coming (Holding Out for a Hero got 2 plays!!) And no request was a problem- except for Lola's Theme Tune (Mr P thinking that because it was his bday he could get away with a sneaky tune from the Noughties. It didn't work)
* gardening- it sure is looking nice out the back there with all the spring sun & rain we've been having. Every day a new flower rears its lovely head. Now, if only the basil & coriander seeds I've planted can come to fruition...
* watching the first rehearsals of the ESC online. Seems to be all going well. I particularly like the snippet at the start of the videos when they are doing their brief sound check a cappella! Slovakia is someone I had barely noticed until I saw them perform in their first rehearsal & they look & sound good. And is it just me, or did Sinead forget her words in the second verse during the Ireland rehearsal??!
* finally finished "the Invention of Everything Else". Book 1 out of the 6 Orange nominees. I'd better get my literary skates on if I'm to read all 6 before June 2!
* avoiding marking coursework of course
* watching copious episodes of the West Wing
and all the other usual suspects of eatin, drinkin, chillin, Scrabblin...
